KIDspace on Sunday MorningsSunday School HourSpecial EventsSeptember 12, 2010: Open House for the nursery and children's ministry.Nursery Parents: Please come as close to 9 am as possible because... This open house is a chance for the following things:*To get to know Jessie, Diana, and Michelle better *To get to hang out with your kids in the nursery! This could be especially helpful to those children who have a hard time parting on Sunday mornings. Come and play with your child in the nursery... with the toys, with the workers... help your child build a stronger connection. *I am going to be there to "take notes"... I want to hear what you like about what we are doing; what you don't like; what your ideal nursery would be like- for my planning for our new location; and your thoughts in general. I would also like to discuss starting up our infant nursery and setting up a parent rotation. Some things to ponder: nursery themes feeding area security age divisions curriculum desires parent involvement Children's Ministry Parents: Please come between 930-100am because... This open house is a chance for us to talk about our year. *What do we want to do the same. *What changes would we like to see. *Thoughts about Sunday School. *Desires for events other than Sunday mornings? Children’s ChurchChildren’s Church happens during the regular service. The children, K- 5th grade follow the cross out and go with me, Mrs. Lahey, to Room 134 for a fun church experience. They return to their families during the service in time to partake of communion. This year we are taking a trek through the Bible. We are beginning with stories in the Old Testament and will be looking for the "redline of Christ"- how we can see Jesus Christ foreshadowed. The New Testament studies begin in Advent when we will begin focusing on preparing for the birth of Christ and continue studying His life and teachings throughout the spring. Each Sunday, we are also working on the information found on the website page titled, "God's Stars" which focuses on knowing Jesus as our Lord and Savior, navigating through Scripture, memorizing Scripture, and learning a children's faith creed. Both Sunday school and children’s church are taught with the knowledge that children learn in many different ways. We utilize reading, writing, drawing, painting, clay, drama, puppets, snacks, music, play, and games to relate the lessons to the children.
